This label is noticeably softer than our polyester sew on labels, making it a comfortable choice for jumpers, woollens, and other delicate or hand-washed items. It's also a popular pick for anyone with sensitive skin, including babies and elderly wearers, since there's no stiff or scratchy edge against the skin.
The trade-off is durability: satin isn't designed for hot commercial washing, so if you're labelling for a boarding school or rest home with a hot industrial wash cycle, our polyester sew on labels will hold up better over time. For everyday domestic washing at home, satin is a lovely, gentle option.
How to sew it on
The top and bottom edges of each label are neatly sealed, so only the two side edges need turning under as you sew, to keep them from fraying. We always leave a little extra room around your printed name so there's space to fold each side under without covering any of the text.
Caring for satin labels
Wash cold or warm, up to 40°C, on a domestic cycle. The black print is bold and easy to read, and holds up well over many gentle washes — just avoid hot commercial or industrial washing, which satin isn't built for.
